Rare Red Kites seen in the village

There are more and more sightings of this near threatened falcon species of Red Kite (Milvus milvus) in the village. This photo, from Wikimedia Commons by Thomas Kraft, shows a Red Kite in flight. We would be delighted if one of our readers could furnish us with a photo of this bird taken within the village.

we have seen a pair of red kites both in flight above our garden & going into the field & hedgerows , they have been here 3 weeks now, this is the 2nd yr these have displayed themselves our end of the village, if anyone is interested they can be seen most afternons when sky is clear displaying above the village green & Mr Morris’s field, they have frequently visited the same area two years now, our grandson is with the ramsey rapture centre & has been thrilled as he is working with them, please update any information you may have as we would be interested in everyone elses sightings, I have registed our sightingson the national register.Your comment
